Brittle nails are a problem that affects the aesthetics of the hands, as it hinders the realization of manicures and other beauty treatments. This can occur as a result of a nutritional deficiency, exposure to chemicals from cleaning products or a disease. Although it doesn't affect directly the health, it is very uncomfortable because it disrupts normal growth of nails and makes them look really bad.

Olive oil: Essential fatty acids and antioxidants that olive oil contains are excellent nutrients to improve the structure of the nails. You will only need ¼ cup olive oil (60 g) and 5 drops of lemon juice. To prepare the remedi, just mix the lemon and olive oil and put the mixture on the region afected on the nail for about 15 minutes. Store the mixture in the refrigerator and repeat the treatment every day. Gradually, you will notice how your nails become healthier.

Papaya with almond oil and egg: This homemade mask for the nails and cuticles contains nutrients that help maintaining the natural moisture, at the same time strengthens the structure of the nails. The ingredients are: 2 tablespoons of papaya juice (20 ml), ½ teaspoon of almond oil (2.5 g), 1 tablespoon egg yolks. Pour the three ingredients in a bowl and stir until it smoothes. Take a glaze brush and apply on your nails and cuticles. Leave it there for 30 minutes and rinse with cold water. Repeat the treatment every day.

Lemon and sugar:


The exfoliating treatment of lemon and sugar helps to improve the health of the cuticles and prevents brittle nails. The ingredients are: ½ lemon and 1 tablespoon of sugar (10 g).  How to prepare it? Mix the lemon juice with a sugar spoon and apply the treatment on your hands and nails, making a gentle circular massage. Leave it there for 5 minutes and rinse. Try to apply the treatment at night to prevent skin spots (when in contact with the sun, lemon stains the skin). Use it every four days.
